Frequently asked questions
What is the return policy?
We have a no return policy unless the order was mistakenly made outside of Los Angeles. Our goal is for every customer to be
completely satisfied with their purchase before delivery. Pictures of the product will be sent before delivery with a confirmation regarding arrival time.
How to care for arrangements?
Keep flowers in a cool area out of direct sunlight. Mist more delicate blooms lightly with water.
If your arrangement is in water (vase): Trim the stems about 1/2 inch every few days and replace the water regularly, about every other day. A drop of bleach will help keep the water fresh without harming the flowers by
preventing bacteria. If blooms start to droop, re-cut stems and place in hot water to help revive and hydrate quickly.
Using chicken wire/foam: Trim as needed every few days. Keep water levels high. Water can be poured out carefully and refilled.
How long do they last?
We use Crowning Glory to seal arrangements and lock in moisture, ensuring a longer life for our arrangements. In general, flower
arrangements universally last 5-7 days. Petal Lab commonly uses flowers that have a longer lifespan, as longevity depends on the flower specifically. We have had some arrangements last a week while some last up to two weeks depending on the type of flowers used. Smaller and more delicate flowers such as poppies will wilt first, but sometimes their moment is worth it.
Where are your flowers sourced?
Our flowers are sourced from downtown Los Angeles at the Original Los Angeles Flower Market and their local vendors. In the rare case that a last minute change is needed or any issues come up, flowers may be sourced elsewhere.
Vases and containers are most commonly sourced from Bloom Connection Supply, which is a local shop located downtown next to the flower market.
When will I receive my order?
As a small business, we work quickly to complete your order as soon as possible. Once an order is placed, you'll receive a text update with the soonest available delivery dates - usually within the week. The local flower market is closed on Sundays, and holidays may affect supplier availability. If needed, outside sources may be procured to ensure flowers are fresh, beautiful, and delivered on time.
How are your flowers priced?
Flowers are priced based on 3 main things: Flowers, materials, and labor. When an order is placed, we handpick the flowers locally
downtown and bring them back to the lab to be arranged. Vessels or containers, and any other materials used to create the arrangement are included. Once the arrangement is ready then we carefully deliver, which is also reflected in the price.
Price transparency breakdown: Florists buy flowers at their wholesale price, of which the cost is multiplied by 3 for retail. The costs of vessels can vary from $10 to $30 dollars as well. One arrangement can take around 3 hours of work because of the time driving to the market downtown and picking out the flowers and vessels, cleaning the flowers and arranging, and then delivering.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is included as part of the labor aspect calculated in the price. Tips are always appreciated, especially when traveling further to deliver. Tips can also be sent through Venmo or Apple Cash.
